BT serves up 20Meg broadband on a plate
18th August 2009.
BT has upgraded it's BT Total Broadband customers to speeds 'up to' 20Mbps from a previous 8Mbps. Uploads are also speeding up to a potential 1Mbps. These speed increases are a result of its upgrade to a full ADSL2+ service.
Initially these faster speeds will be available for 549 exchanges covering 40% of the country. This is extending to 55% of the country by March 2010.
BT is also offering the 'BT Broadband Accelerator' also known as the BT i-plate to its broadband customers. Here at BestRouters.co.uk we strongly recommend you take advantage of their generosity and claim your iplate for just 1.20 as it reduces electrical interference and can increase your broadband speed by up to 1.5Mbps. Do remember to wait up to 3 days after installing it for your exchange to adapt to the better signal quality.
