Cisco launches WRT320N Dual-Band Wireless-N Gigabit Router

14th May 2009.

Linksys (now owned by Cisco) have today announced their new router, the WRT320N. The WRT320N is "designed for consumers to create a media enabled network at home."

Guess that means it's pretty good at streaming then? The dual band should certainly help to keep a steady signal in our ever more crowded wireless environments. It's also one of the first Linksys routers to come with the (recently purchased) Home Network Defender built in.

Other than the dual band and gigabit ethernet (which are slowly becoming standard), there doesn't seem to be much innovation in the router. One of the highlights in the press release is that the manuals are printed with environmentally friendly soy ink!

According to Jens Hofmeister at Cisco, "The Dual-Band Wireless-N Gigabit Router brings the dual band technology to a level that is accessible to a more mainstream audience. With our current range of N-routers we enable the consumer to choose the solution that best fits their needs. The WRT320N compliments our Wireless-N product family and is positioned between our WRT160N and WRT610N. Now we have a solution for everybody, from the novice user to the savviest of technology experts and gamers."

Pricing seems to be fairly reasonable, with a recommended street price of £99. Available in June 2009, be sure to check our reviews before buying to see how well it really does stream.
