Linksys launches E-series
9th April 2010.
Cisco has launched a new line of Linksys wireless routers aimed at a technical audience. There are four new routers:
• the Linksys E1000 ($79.99) - a basic 10/100 wireless n router,
• the Linksys E2000 ($119.99) - gigabit dual-band wireless n router,
• the Linksys E2100L ($119.99) - A Linux based 10/100 wireleess n router with USB port for external hard-disk attachment
• the Linksys E3000 ($179.99) - a gigabit, simultaneous dual-band 802.11n router with USB port
The Linux router will please enthusiasts, but otherwise it looks like quite a similar line-up to the new Belkin range. It'll be interesting to compare the two.
The new lineup also introduces the new Cisco Connect software which makes setup and management of the wireless network a doddle.
