Sky ups speed and goes unlimited

In a double announcement Sky has revealed it will up its broadband speeds to 20Meg and also revealed an interesting new offering Sky Unlimited.
Firstly, the speed increase. Sky is claiming to be the first ISP to offer its customers free internet access at speeds of up to 20Mb/s. As of yesterday this is available to all qualifying customers. Qualification involves being a Sky TV and Sky Talk customer. You should also be aware that there is a monthly data limit of 2 Gigabytes.
This speed boost (essentially an upgrade to ADSL2+) is a welcome edition to the world of 'free' broadband, and one we are anticipating Sky won't have all to itself for very long. Expect other free ISP providers to follow in Sky's footsteps sooner rather than later.
Sky Unlimited is the launch of a new £7.50 a month (with Sky Talk - £10 without) service which Sky are touting as being ISP interference free, that is there are "no usage caps, fair use policies or traffic management" being applied to the service. This could be a very mixed blessing, as these policies tend to be used to ensure everyone gets at least a mediocre service, rather than one or two users hogging the bandwidth.
Sky Unlimited is also an upto 20Mb/s connection, and you'll get a free Sky wireless router thrown in (which we'd suggest you replace immediately).
