Linksys signs deal with Trend for Home Network Defender

17th February 2009.

Cisco, the parent company of Linksys, has signed a deal with Trend Micro to include it's new Home Network Defender software with all new Linksys wireless routers.

The software provides three main security features designed to protect the whole home network which are: parental control, virus protection and network activity tracking. The idea is that approaching security at a network (router) level rather than individual computer or console level is easier and more secure. Selected new Linksys wireless routers come with a 30 day trial of the software / service, which you can extend for an annual subscription cost of £64.95.
